YEAR IN REVIEW:

The following is a list of the issues/accomplishments that were resolved by the Board in the 2005-2006 term:

  • For the gate, replaced the access display and installed an external antenna to increase the reception range for our clickers. Date of improvement circa week of 22 November 2004.
  • Power out backup system designed to supply power for gate operations in the event of a power failure for hours. Date of improvement circa January 2005.
  • Hurricane Wilma as it passed near our area, two palms were snapped in half (thus what were 6 is now 4) and deposited across the entrance road making them impassable, at Florida Ave. Community volunteers organized by Doug Akers responded quickly to clear the entrance.
  • The Landscaping Amendment succeeded achieving the required 105 affirmative votes for passage.
  • The perseverance and determination by a handful of residents has yielded results in the resolution of reclassification of 2 lots designated within a flood zone out of the flood zone. The results come in the form of a guide using an actual application annotated appropriately with instructions of what to fill-in and where.
  • Management was directed to order a No Outlet sign at the cul-de-sac on Spring Oak Drive with a possible rider for addresses, due to all the wrong turns people make.
  • Estimates obtained by Mr. Bill Bowen for Lawn Service. After review of the contract estimates presented the Board voted unanimously for Bream’s Landscaping.
  • Addition of the previously approved pedestrian gates at the Front Gate Entrance and at Brown Avenue.

FOURTH BOARD:

The table to the left represents the members of the fourth elected FCHOA Board of Directors. Since only nine candidates were on the slate for the Election, according to the by-laws, no election from the residents was required and thus the slate of candidates became the new Board of Directors. Subsequent to the election Shea Shannon, Dave Wharton and Jim Irvin resigned. However, John Hussey and Bob Cropper volunteered to serve on the Board for the remaining Term.
